My gorilla family at our Rescue and Rewild Sanctuary. We have sent 80 gorillas back to the wild so far. We are the only people in the world to do this. ❤️🦍 I have known these specific gorillas in the video my entire life, and the relationships I share with them are built on complete love and trust. The beauty of the bond is that, although they could harm me, they don’t.🩵❤️ The reason these gorillas you see aren’t in the wild is that they are too old to return and wouldn’t survive. Many years ago, it wasn’t possible for them to be reintroduced to the wild. Now, it is—but unfortunately, it’s too late for them, as they probably wouldn’t survive. This is a perfect example of certain animals needing human care, but that doesn’t justify 99% of animals being locked in cages for life. If an animal can go back to the wild, it should. Sadly, many zoos don’t do this because it’s a business for them.🧡♥️ Having released nearly 2,000 animals back into the wild, we are proving it can be done, and we hope others will follow this vital work of releasing and protecting animals in their natural habitats. 🫶🌍❣️
